PIC Fundamentals, Design at Heart of AIM Photonics Summer Academy
Students from large and small size companies and bigger Department of Defense affiliates of the AIM Photonics Institute took part in the recent AIM Photonics Summer Academy at MIT. This was the third such academy and offered instruction in fundamentals and design of photonic integrated circuits (PICs). The design track is new to the boot-camp-style teachings and attracted an international audience; close to 60 students participated in the week-long courses.
