The Optical Society (OSA) will be a partner and exhibitor at the USA Science and Engineering Festival from April 28-29 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. OSA volunteers will perform education demonstrations in the Festival’s “Big Top Physics” tent, a joint project of OSA, the American Physical Society, the American Association of Physics Teachers, the Acoustical Society of America, the Society of Physics Students and the University of Maryland’s MRSEC program. The all-ages festival will feature more than 3000 exhibitors, 33 author presentations, more than 100 stage shows and science celebrity appearances by Bill Nye the Science Guy, Mayim Bialik from The Big Bang Theory, and Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman from MythBusters. “The USA Science and Engineering Festival is an opportunity to experience the fun and excitement that comes with learning about technology and innovation for all ages,” said Elizabeth Rogan, OSA CEO. “This is an opportunity to contribute to an event where students, parents and educators can enjoy what science has to offer in ways that are both informative and engaging.” For more information, visit: www.osa.org
