In Oregon, a new laboratory will provide researchers with state-of-the-art electron microscopes to advance the understanding and treatment of cancer, AIDS and other diseases. The Living Lab for Cell Biology, a collaborative effort of Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland and FEI Co. of Hillsboro, will be equipped with instruments made by the latter, including a Titan Krios transmission electron microscope and a Helios NanoLab DualBeam instrument, which features scanning electron and focused ion-beam microscopy functions. !%FEI%! will focus on combining electron microscopy with other imaging techniques, including light and fluorescence microscopy.
