CHARLES, Mo., June 30, 2014 — A joule laser amplifier from Northrop Grumman-Cutting Edge Optronics provides stable performance for more than 10 billion shots at repetition rates of more than 40 Hz. The amplifier pumps a 1-in.-diameter Nd:YAG laser rod with more than 400 quasi-CW laser diode bars, producing more than 9 J of gain-switched energy and more than 7.5 J of stored energy. It has a gain uniformity profile of < 10 percent edge-to-center variation and a small signal gain of > 10.See full productRelated content from Photonics MediaPRODUCTSPhotonics Spectra April 2023 IssueLaser Diode DriverThe DC2P dual-channel laser diode driver from Cutting Edge Optronics reduces diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) laser system complexity and cuts required electronics rack space in half.
